These are some example of my work on different items, just to get an idea of where and on what my work can be used :)

Experiments with Colour
These are a few of my drawings which I have experimented with a bit of colour on I really like them and enjoyed injecting a bit of colour into them ! I think this is something I will continue to do and improve on to get them to the same standard as my black and white drawings.
Website Research
it is time to start thinking about creating my own website for my work so I have looked at different artists sites to get some ideas of things that work and don't and what looks good.
Jill Calder
I looked at the site of Jill Calder first as she is one of my favourite artists. As soon as her page comes up you are offered different links to certain areas of her site, the links are in her own drawn typeface and are all different colours its very playful in the way it is laid out. After selecting one it takes you to the main site, her work is all laid out in thumbnails, it is easy to find information and to navigate around, I think the thing I like most is how bright and playful her site is even before you look at any of her work you already get an idea of the style of work she does.

Jillian Tamaki
another site I looked at is that of Jillian Tamaki, her site is much more minimalistic in comparison to Jill Calder's. once on her site you can straight away see all her illustrations clearly laid out, your attention is straight away drawn to them as the writing is very small and almost washed out against the white background, it looks very professional and is very easy to navigate around and find any information about the artist or any of her work.

Malika Favre
I first saw this artists work at Pick Me Up 2013, she has a different style to the artists I normally look at so thought she might be a good comparison.
Once on her site there is very little writing, not even her name, it is purely made up of her illustrations, she has some moving and some still and they are all placed directly next to each other in a sort of grid layout, in her work she uses bold shapes and colour and for me I think all these placed that close together and some moving I find it a bit in your face, plus if you were looking for a certain series of illustrations she did for example you would have to know what they looked like as there is no writing to let you no on the home page, which I think could be a little awkward..

Hopes, Fears and Opportunities
Hopes
As far as hopes go I obviously want to do well on my course, come out with a good grade and be successful in the future with whatever it is I end up doing!
But further than that I haven't really decided exactly what it is I want to do.. I know I will just try my best in whatever it turns out to be and use the things iv learnt in the past few years to help me along the way.
Fears
I think my fear is to not do well or achieve the grades I hoped for as result of not pushing myself, iv found iv let things get on top of me and have let myself get stressed out with things and I feel it has maybe affected me in my work a little. I don't want to fall behind in the last weeks of my course. I think that would be my biggest worry.
Opportunities
I think I just need to be more involved with different events outside of uni, like different competitions and discussions and exhibitions. I need to try and give myself more time to do these sort of things in the future, another good opportunity I hope to be able to take advantage of is the trip down to London, to be able to meet with professionals within the industry and show some work.
